Revised Guidelines for Mass, 16th July 2021
We have received our guidelines from the Diocese and it has been recommended from the 19th July we continue to provide the following to ensure people feel safe; Sanitiser on entry and exit, encouragement of wearing face masks, good ventilation, maintain general cleaning to a good standard, designated set places for seating to provide social distancing and our own track and trace system to be kept in place alongside NHS Track and Trace QR Code displayed. The following can be gradually re-introduced; Holy Communion under one kind only, inserted back into Mass, congregational singing (however mask must be worn until infection levels reduce), Servers, Cantors, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers can serve/be part of the Mass and the Offertory Collection (however at the moment we will continue with our basket at the back of church). The gradual reintroduction of the activities above, which we would have experienced in pre-pandemic days, especially singing, for example, will have to be gauged by the development of the virus within the community and country. Holy Water stoops must not be filled and The Sign of Peace remains suspended. It is no longer necessary to have a one way system or restrictions around the church. The temporary suspension of the Sunday obligation as validated by the Bishops Conference of England and Wales will be lifted on the First Sunday of Advent (28th November 2021) thus committed Catholics are required to attend Holy Mass on each Sunday on and after this date. To make this transition a little easier this weekend (25th July 2021) Fr Philip will not make any changes but from next weekend (1st August 2021) the removal of the tape on the outside of the benches will take place allowing Holy Communion to be taken during Mass. A steward will direct parishioners and as Fr Philip will be distributing Communion by himself for the moment he would like the organ side of the church to take Communion first and then the lectern side of the church after, returning to your seats. At the end of Mass please try and leave the church carefully leaving gaps between you and your fellow parishioners. You will be updated accordingly in the newsletter as the gradual phases are re-introduced.
Diocesan Live Stream
The Diocesan website (http://www.dioceseofshrewsbury.org/) has been redesigned to allow the Live Feed to the Cathedral to be quickly and simply accessed. A daily programme of Mass and prayer from Cathedral has been established from 6.45am in the morning until 8.30pm in the evening. This will provide a place from which we can be united in the offering of the Mass and in prayer together. We encourage you all to use these resources to be spiritually connected.

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Individual Confession every Saturday and by request at any time.
